Wayne Ehmann principal of Wayne Ehmann Associates has been Chief Architect of MTA Metro North Railroad in New York City since 1984. In his tenure there he has helped turn one of the worst railroads into a premier commuter railroad serving the suburban the northern areas of New York State and Connecticut.
He and his staff have overseen many new rail station designs, rail related facility renovations, office renovations, infrastructure and preservation work. He was instrumental in preparing the company's Design Standards Manual.
Included in his responsibilities was overseeing all the various phases of the $200M restoration of Grand Central Terminal.
In his duties as Chief Architect he has sat on many selection committees choosing design teams for architectural and engineering contracts and artists for "arts for transit" proposals. He understands what railroads will be looking for. He understands the railroad mindset. He speaks the railroad language.
Wayne Ehmann Associates is now offering consulting services for railroad related design services.
These services include architectural and preservation design services direct to rail transportation companies or larger design firms. We can also help firms seeking railroad contracts with their presentation efforts. Let us help give you the advantage over the other presenters.
The MNR architectural office has earned several awards including the prestigious Brunel Award in 1996 for their efforts on the restoration of Grand Central Terminal.
